During the holiday season we went to the main library in Surrey to enjoy the decorations, good reads and Lego ornament building workshop.

BC Regimental Museum
To complement our unit on World War Two we had a tour of the BC Regimental Museum of BC on Beatty Street in Vancouver. It is the oldest building in Vancouver still being used for its original purpose!
The museum was filled with artifacts of all sorts from many of the major wars during the last century.
The highlight, however, was definitely the tanks outside!
We finished off the day with a walk in the gorgeous sunshine at Granville Island.

Creating Colours
This fall the kids had another opportunity to take a four-week art class with April at the Surrey Art Gallery. During the first class they created accordion booklets to showcase the colours they created and named.

Advent
This is my favourite of all of our various Advent calendars (we have many). You move the candle one hole closer to the middle each day and Mary on the donkey follows along. It is a simple but effective daily reminder of the journey towards Christmas.

Bekah is 11!
Our beautiful Bekah just turned eleven! We celebrated her with a splatter art party - a celebration filled with lots of colour and good friends.
